Current School Board Chair Rob Zandee has announced his bid for reelection to the School District 53 Board.

“It has been a privilege working for the students of our District and working with our team of educators, as well as representing the community’s voice on educational matters,” said Zandee.

“I plan to take the knowledge and experience I have gained over the past few years, and specifically the last year as Board Chair, to work to further the great initiatives that we have been working on for the District.”

Zandee is also the Chair of the OLRC (Okanagan Labour Relations Council), the organization that is the bargaining and human resources support agent on behalf of a number of Okanagan School Districts and their support staff unions.

“As we move into another round of bargaining with not only the BCTF but also with the various support staff unions, we want to make sure that all of our educational partners are treated fairly while making sure that we have positive educational outcomes for our students as our end goal. It takes all of us working together to make this happen within the funding parameters we have to work with as set forth by the government,” said Zandee.

“Going into this round with past experience is immensely valuable to be able to find potential solutions”.

First elected in 2011, Rob has served in various roles on committees of the board, Board Vice Chair and is currently the Board’s Chairperson.
