VIDEO: Residents express flooding concerns at public meeting


Attendees of a public information meeting regarding flooding on Wednesday evening had lots to say to local and government officials.

The meeting was hosted at the Oliver Community Centre by the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen, along with representatives from the province and other organizations.

Donna Cooke on Goldtau Road in Willowbrook expressed concern about her flooding situation during last night’s public meeting at the Oliver Community Centre. There was talk about breaching Goldtau Road, followed by an evacuation, which the regional district is planning.

Tom Kamann brings up the problem of beavers being responsible for area flooding and the government’s lack of caring and action.

Engineering consultant Caleb Pomeroy gives residents an update on the flood situation north of Oliver at last night’s public meeting in the community centre.
