Silent Auction

Silent Auction

Oliver residents wanting to get their Christmas shopping done in one fell swoop can do so at the eighth annual silent auction hosted by the South Okanagan Association for Integrated Community Living.
The auction will be held in the old dollar store from 10 am to 4 pm daily at Oliver Place Mall from November 26 to December 1.
Bill Dean, chairman of the fundraising committee, said proceeds from this year’s auction will go towards a bigger bus for clients.
The association currently has a 12-passenger bus that cannot accommodate the transportation needs of their clients. As a result, some clients are left behind, Dean said.
The new, 21-passenger bus they hope to purchase will cost approximately $123,000. People can make a tax deductible donation towards this project.
Dean said the silent auction will feature more than 200 items, including golf packages and dinners for two.
There will also be special tables full of items that are great for stocking stuffers.
“We’ve got every conceivable thing you can think of for the kitchen,” Dean said, noting there are oven mitts, candles, etc.
He pointed out that all of the items have been generously donated.
