The news just keeps getting better for Oliver’s Small Wheels playground.
Area C director Rick Knodel has announced the regional district will match the $100,000 that the Small Wheels playground will receive in the BCAA Play Here contest.
Knodel said the money will come from the community gas tax fund.
The one condition he has requested is that the new playground be under 24-hour video surveillance using infrared technology (to eliminate light pollution).
“Just as we request that residents lock their vehicles, it only makes sense that we lead by example in protecting our community’s assets, Knodel said.
The playground project is estimated to cost $260,000. It will consist of upgrading the existing skatepark in Lion’s Park.
