For those looking for information about the correctional centre in Oliver, you’re in luck.
According to Mayor Ron Hovanes, who spoke with Brent Merchant of BC Corrections, the assistant deputy minister is hoping to meet with Town council and hold a community engagement session in the near future.
Hovanes could not confirm a date for the forum but said he is anticipating it will take place sometime this fall. The project is expected to create up to 500 direct and 500 indirect jobs. Construction is slated to begin in 2015.
