Pink Shirt Day

Pink Shirt Day

Pink shirtPupils from Oliver Elementary School took part in Pink Shirt Day on February 26 by singing songs and performing skits about the effects of bullying and the importance of friendships.

Pink Shirt Day is an international anti-bullying initiative spearheaded by two Nova Scotia teens in 2007, as a show of support  for a boy who was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. The idea quickly spread beyond Nova Scotia into a national campaign, organized by the Vancouver radio station CKNW.
