Students at Tuc-el-Nuit Elementary School in Oliver participated in a dance and culture class taught by Aimee Lezard, of the Penticton Indian Band, and Floyd Baptiste Jr., of the Osoyoos Indian Band.

Two groups of students were taught the basics of Okanagan dance and introduced to significant symbols of the Okanagan culture like the salmon, bear, roots, and berries.

The learning activity was in celebration of National Indigenous People’s Day on June 21.
