A 47-year-old Oliver man suffered serious injuries following an all-terrain vehicle accident on Highway 97 on Wednesday.
Oliver RCMP Sgt. Blaine Gervais reported the man was brought to South Okanagan General Hospital after the incident at approximately 3 a.m.
“A witness reports he was driving his motor vehicle on Highway 97 between Oliver and Osoyoos when he observed a male laying on the pavement,” Gervais said.
The witness subsequently transported the male to the hospital.
Gervais said an RCMP traffic analyst observed there was evidence the ATV lost control and flipped while being operated by the male. No helmet was found at the scene. Gervais reported the male suffered extensive serious trauma to his upper body and head and is currently in Kelowna General Hospital.
The RCMP is not releasing the man’s name at this time.
