Oliver man arrested for shooting

The Oliver RCMP found a local woman who was reported missing after going for a walk near a section of irrigation canal on June. 25.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a recent shooting in Oliver.

On May 28, a man who was present during a May 18 home invasion on Harmony Crescent was dropped off at South Okanagan General Hospital with a gunshot wound to the face. The victim has since been released.

According to police, a man carrying a handgun and wearing a mask was witnessed leaving the residence on May 18 when the home invasion/robbery occurred.

Oliver RCMP questioned the people inside but they were uncooperative.

Police say the subsequent shooting took place at a “problem residence” on Road 6.

Following some investigation, police took a 30-year-old Oliver man into custody.

According to police, the people involved in these incidents were targeted, and they do not believe the general public is at risk.
