James qualified after competing at the BC High School Rodeo finals in Merritt last month where she finished third in breakaway roping.
The Osoyoos Indian Band member competed in the rodeo last year as well, and was also names the BC Highschool Rodeo Queen.
She’ll be joined by three other locals: Ali Lantz and Vanessa Caverly of Willowbrook and Nevada Dynneson from Osoyoos.
