The Oliver Ambassador Program is seeking new candidates and any aspiring youth are encouraged to apply.
The Oliver Ambassador Program is an initiative that focuses on self-improvement, friendship and travel, and its current ambassadors are now in search of candidates for the 2018 season.
In the candidacy program, students in grades 9-11 participate in local volunteer events in the community as well as participate in various workshops provided by the program. Recently, candidates have studied self-defence, skin care, the history of Oliver and personal finance.
Over the course of candidacy many skills are developed such as networking, interview skills, public speaking, and personal presentation.
Candidacy runs from February until August, when a new ambassador team will be named. Any interested youth are encouraged to contact Lori Martine at 250-498-6971 or by message the programs’ Facebook page.
A brief information meeting will be held at SOSS cafeteria at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13th.
