The private walk-in clinic at the Nk’Mip Resource Centre will only be treating a maximum of 10 patients a day except for members of the Osoyoos Indian Band.
“We do not have the capacity to see all the patients being referred to our clinic from outside sources,” reads a press release from the Nk’Mip Resource Centre. “It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to cap the number of non-Osoyoos Indian Band members to 10 per clinic day.”
The clinic is open twice a week for three hours at a time.
“Once capacity has been reached we will be placing a notice on the door stating that we will not be taking more patients that day.”
The resource centre is looking for more resources to expand clinic hours and be able to take on more patients.
“As soon as we are able to expand our services, we will send out another notice advertising the new information.”
The Chronicle is awaiting comment from Interior Health.
