As a result of an ongoing investigation, the Keremeos RCMP executed a search warrant at a marijuana dispensary in Cawston on Friday.

On Friday at approximately 10:15, members of the Keremeos RCMP Detachment with assistance from the Penticton RCMP and South Okanagan Traffic Services executed a search warrant at the Amber Light Compassion Club located in the 600 block Coulthard Rd in Cawston, B.C. Three people were located inside the business, all employees along with the owner. An adult man was taken into custody.

Police located approximately 20 lbs of dried marijuana and a quantity of hashish inside the location. They also located and seized large quantities of marijuana extract products such as pills, lotions, balms and oils.

“After learning that local youths had allegedly obtained marijuana from the dispensary, we immediately launched an investigation which led to these arrests and seizures. We view our actions as appropriate and necessary in responding to public complaints received and initiated the resulting investigation. During the search, investigators gathered evidence of possible offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and took enforcement actions accordingly,” stated Cpl Brian Evans of the Keremeos RCMP.
