The Senior Songsters are gearing up for the 50 plus “Sweethearts” concert on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 2 pm. The Songsters are in need of a pianist for their Wednesday night practices.  Dance, sing, play cards and visit your friends on a weekly basis

Come on in and make yourself at home at the Oliver Senior Center at 5876 Airport Street.
Here it is another new year upon us. What do you say, let’s get active and join in on some of these daily activities ongoing at the centre. Dance the afternoon away with Paul and Friends every first and third Wednesday of each month, from 1:30-4 pm. If line dancing is your style,we have beginners classes every Tuesday at 10 am with instructor Claire Denney. If you can count to eight, you are off to a good start! Also, there are intermediate classes every Thursday morning at 9 am.
Keep on dancing because there is more old time country music every Saturday morning at 10 am with the Oliver volunteer seniors band. Are you tired yet? Bring a friend to the ladies keep fit classes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 8:45.
Are you practicing your act for the ever so popular annual music jam session, which happens on Sunday, Jan. 27? We would like your participation, whether you sing, dance or play an instrument, recite poetry, maybe even try impersonating Dolly Parton, Hank Snow or Merle Haggard, it’s your choice. Doors will open at 11:30, and the jam session starts at 1 pm. A light lunch will be available, and admission is by donation.
The Senior Songsters are revving up for their 50 plus “Sweethearts” concert held on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 2 pm. If you are an Oliver resident and have been married 50 or more years, please join us for an entertaining afternoon of love songs and refreshments by signing your names at the front desk, or call yours truly to register (250-498-0454). The Songsters are still in need of a pianist for Wednesday night practices and occasional concerts.
We encourage members and non-members to attend our next general meeting on Monday, Jan. 21 at 1:30 pm.
