Local doctor resigns

Local doctor resigns

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that as of July 1, 2020, I will no longer be providing medical services at the Oliver Family Health Clinic. This follows my fulfillment of a two-year return of service contract, which was completed in the fall of 2019.

When my family and I moved to Oliver, we were warmly welcomed into the community and have enjoyed many of the gifts this little town has to offer. We have now made the difficult decision to re-locate to be closer to family and friends.

Over the past six months I have heavily advocated to recruit a replacement physician, but unfortunately this has been unsuccessful to date. It is also not feasible for my colleague, Dr. Evans, to assume responsibility for your care as he is already at his capacity. I can assure you that other local physicians, the Interior Health Authority and the Divisions of Family Practice are actively developing strategies to help recruit and retain physicians to the South Okanagan.

They are also looking into transition and re-assignment options for high-needs patients with active and acute medical care needs to prevent gaps in care. More detailed information on how to register for another family doctor as well as how to access personal lab and test results can be found at our office.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding throughout this challenging process. I wish all of you the very best in the future.

Dr. Andrew Daly,

Oliver Family Health Clinic

  1. And my (our) thanks go out to Dr. Daly for being there for us in times of medical necessity for the last couple of years. I wish further success and happiness to the doctor’s future. Thanks again.

  2. We are really sad that Dr. Daly is leaving the medical office. We will miss him dearly as well as his great sense of humour. Having said this, both my husband Ralph and I wish him all the success. Who else is going to put up with my husband (just kidding).

  3. Dr. Daly- so Sorry to hear you’re leaving! You were good and insightful! We wish you and family the best and wherever you go, they’re lucky to have you as their doctor. Thank you for the last few years!
