Leahy ends up in CFO role

The man that the Town of Oliver used to help find a new chief financial officer is now the new chief financial officer.

The Town has announced that Doug Leahy is the guy to fill that role.

He was initially hired as interim CFO and assisted the Town in recruiting a new CFO after Devon Wannop left in late 2018.

A professional by the name of Kent Levang was chosen for the position in February, but that didn’t last very long because he recently left for unexplained reasons.

“The Town and Mr. Levang parted ways. We wish him well in his future endeavours,” said Chief Administrative Officer Cathy Cowan, who did not elaborate.

Leahy brings many years of municipal finance experience to the Town including positions as CFO for the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen, the City of Penticton, and manager of collection services for the City of New Westminster.
