Junior play downs took place in Osoyoos from November 24-26 and six girls curling teams from zone three were entered.

Oliver has a very young squad compared to most of their opponents and the team faced the girls from Vernon, coached by Jim Cotter who plays on the John Morris team and has represented BC
many times, including appearances in the Briar.

The girls kept thing close for the first four ends, until Vernon scored three to take the lead and it became very difficult for Oliver to get endpoints back. The Vernon team was very good at takeouts and controlled the game from that point.

The girls’ second game was a repeat of the first, playing an experienced squad, but they remained close until the fifth end when the other team took over again.

Madison Been-Shekula was skip, Kahlin Zeniuk played third, and newcomers Erin Manning was second and Kaitlyn Rouw was lead. The girls used this experience to prepare for their next Bonspiel and they are now playing in the ladies league in preparation for upcoming events.
