Oliver Parks and Recreation is calling on the regional district to give the hike and bike trail some tender loving care.

Parks manager Carol Sheridan said concerns have been raised about the physical condition of the popular trail between McAlpine Bridge and the oxbows.

She noted that some sections are plagued by tree roots and separations of the concrete.

Sheridan also pointed out that motorbike riders are “ripping” along the trail when they shouldn’t be. No motorized vehicles are permitted on the pathway, she stated.

The park’s board has written a letter to the regional district asking for its plans to repair the trail.
