Highway to Healing Support Society has benefited from Kevin’s No Frills recent fundraiser.
“Our community supported us when we asked them to help Highway to Healing”… Kevin Meyer, Kevin’s No Frills
When Kevin Meyer decided to raise funds for his community, he heard about Highway to Healing; asking his customers to donate a dollar or two with their grocery purchase, Kevin’s No Frills raised $1,250!
Meeting with Board members Tracy MacFadden and Russell Work, Kevin mentioned how this small community has impressed him with its generosity. Of course, Highway to Healing knows well the kind of support provided by people in the South Okanagan.
Just five years old, Highway to Healing has provided over $40,000 in funding for families needing to travel to obtain medical treatment for their children. Those needs may include fuel, parking fees, and overnight stays. Support can be one time, or may extend for many years for families whose child faces serious illness.
With their second annual Drive to Provide fun golf tournament coming up in July, H2H will once again be asking the people of the communities they serve for help. Vice-President Tracy MacFadden says “Our First Annual golf tournament was a huge success, and if we can repeat that, we know we can continue to provide financial assistance for families from Osoyoos, Oliver and OK falls.”
Board Members Include Gail Barriskill, Riley Martin, Russell Work, Ernie Dumais, Alesha Grimard, Tracy MacFadden, Tanya Martin, Tony Munday and Cathy Thompson.
