Thieves in the Okanagan appear to be discriminating against owners of Ford pickup trucks.
“These types of vehicles have typically always been a target for vehicle thieves, however, recently we’ve seen a significant increase. We’re hoping that by advising people who may own such a vehicle, they can take extra precautions when securing them” said Cst. James Grandy with the Penticton RCMP.
In the past month, there have been 17 theft or attempted theft of F-series trucks in the South Okanagan. In Kelowna, the 25 of the Ford pickups have been stolen since Jan. 8, and six attempted thefts.
