The Oliver Community Arts Council presents the 30th annual Fall Art Show and Sale October 5-6.
This year’s theme is “Artist’s Choice,” which enables all artisans to create a work of art of their choice.
Artisans of the Okanagan and beyond are invited to participate. You do not need to belong to a club or an organization in order to enter the show.
The entries are divided into categories, such as paintings (watercolour, acrylic, oil). Other media include encaustic, pastel, drawings, mixed media, etc.
Other categories include photography, fibre arts (quilting, weaving, knitting and sewing). There is also three dimensional: woodworking, leather, stained glass, glass, metal sculptures, pottery, jewelry, etc.
If you are an “emerging artist” under the age of 18, you are encouraged to enter your work.
This is not a juried show; however, the public is welcome to vote for the best of each category and for overall best of show. Awards will be presented at the reception on the evening of October 5.
All entries must be for sale. A 30 per cent commission will be charged on all sales. Work must not have been shown in any previous fall art show.
Entry forms may be obtained from www.oliverartscouncil.org or at the Oliver Visitor Centre at 6431 Station St. For further information call Sally at 250-498-0104.
The deadline for entries is Friday, Sept. 13. The artist may submit up to a total of two entries, either in the same category or two different categories.
