Most people only go to prison after they get caught breaking the law.
But that wasn’t the case for an alleged thief who drew some heat by showing up to the Okanagan Correctional Centre on a stolen motorcycle.
It was the early hours of July 18 when prison staffers alerted the local RCMP to the suspicion.
The biker was located near Spartan Avenue but he decided to flee from police. Cops learned through some detective work that the motorcycle and license plate were stolen.
While investigating, another report came in of a man who had been caught breaking into a trailer, and the suspect was associated with the stolen motorbike.
Cops rushed to the scene and met the fellow, who was pinned down by some protective property owners.
Police busted Jerrod Roberts of Penticton and charged him with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000, Mischief, Obstruction and Break and Enter with Intent.
He was released fro custody and will be in Court on July 31.
