Oliver firefighters had to respond to 11 burning complaints in April.

In total, the department attended 21 calls for service last month, including two motor vehicle accidents – one truck was abandoned after it ended up in a section of irrigation canal near Gallagher Lake.

There was one smoke sighting on Harmony Crescent where an unattended backyard burn was extinguished by firefighters.

A brush fire on Leighton Crescent was the result of a campfire, and a grass fire on Enterprise Way was also attributed to a campfire.

One call was a gas leak that was attributed to someone washing car parts with gasoline.
