The South Okanagan Special Olympics 5-pin bowling team is gearing up to compete in the nationals in PEI on May 15.
The bowlers include Oliver residents Bob Brimacombe, Wayne Bierbaum and Kaitlyn Nemeth. The other two bowlers are Jessica Lehtonen and Ashleigh Cummings from Keremeos.
The team previously finished first in the regional and provincial competitions, which earned it a berth in the nationals.
The team is coached by volunteer Pat Krieger, who has also been coaching Meghan Burnett from Oliver, who will be bowling at the nationals on the Mission, BC team.
In addition, two local swimmers, Kyle Sanderson and Tolan Lloyd-Walters, will swim for Team BC in July.
