Oliver firefighters stopped a grass fire from spreading too far on Wednesday in a field adjacent to Inkameep Vineyards off Tucelnuit Drive.
Although the wind did fan the flames, firefighters ensured they didn’t spread too far.
Fire department spokesman Rob Graham said the cause is undetermined.
“It is believed that the workers at the vineyard were moving an old burn pile and that it still had some embers when they dumped it.”
But this cannot be confirmed at this point, Graham said.
The fire’s size was estimated at two acres.
