More than $97,000 in bursaries and scholarships were handed out to Grade 12 students during a special ceremony at Frank Venables Theatre Tuesday night.

In addition to winning eight bursaries and scholarships, Sienna Bontorin was the recipient of the senior academic cup for academic excellence at Southern Okanagan Secondary School. She obtained a 93 per cent average.

Tiffany Heinrichs was also the recipient of eight scholarships and bursaries, while Rebekah Thomas won several, including the Oliver Chronicle bursary for $1,000.

Christina Raposo won six bursaries/scholarships, while Aiden Cook won five.

Sherry Brar and Harvenus Dhaliwal won $2,500 each from the South Okanagan Health Care Auxiliary.
