The Rotary Club of Oliver held its annual Installation of Officers Ceremony last Tuesday in the 232 Squadron hangar on Cessna Street. Several wives and guests attended, including Mayor Hovanes and wife Tara and outgoing Assistant District Governor Cheryle King and her Husband Jim.

This event was an opportunity for the Club to present the second of three $10,000 cheques to the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation Hospital Tower. An additional $4,500 was given to several organizations in Oliver.

Cheryle King awarded club Member Ernie Dumais with a Changemaker of the Year plaque recognizing his work and support for projects such Highway to Healing.

David and Christine Lesmeister received a Paul Harris Award plaque for their years offering a real movie experience in Oliver’s famed and classic theatre on Main Street.

The final event was installation of the Club’s Co-Presidents Maureen Doerr and Ann Hayes and installation of Club Executive members.

Dinner was provided by Azorean Catering.
