Special to the Chronicle
Ferdinand the bull returns to the big screen on Wednesday, July 25th as part of the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club’s Moonlight Movie Night.
The annual event, sponsored by Interior Savings, will be held at the Oliver Parks and Recreation Centre, at 6359 Park Drive.
Ferdinand will be shown on a life-sized inflatable movie screen, brought in by Fresh Air Cinema, in the field near the band shell.
The film will start at dusk, but we invite families to bring their blankets and chairs around 6 p.m. to choose their spot on the grass and have fun with family-friendly pre-show activities including face painting, a bouncy castle and games brought in by Interior Savings and the RDOS Physical Activity Trailer.
Bring your appetite, because hot dogs and beverages donated by the Oliver Buy-Low Foods will be available for purchase at our concession, as well as candy and chips. Staff from the Oliver Interior Savings will be there selling popcorn they have generously donated.
All funds raised at the event will benefit the Boys and Girls Club’s programs and services for children and youth in the community.
We’re delighted to have partnered with Interior Savings to present Moonlight Movie Night for the past seven years. It has become a highlight of the summer for families from communities throughout the South Okanagan, not just for Oliver.
