A 37-year-old Mexican man drowned in Tucelnuit Lake last week.

Police were called to the lake at 4:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1 for a report of a deceased male in the water.

“To date the investigation has confirmed that the 37-year-old man was seen entering the water while swimming earlier that day, however was not noted as missing until later that day,” said Oliver RCMP Sgt. Blaine Gervais.

The man’s death is not considered suspicious. Police have turned over the investigation to the BC Coroners Service. No further details were released by the Oliver RCMP.
