The popular adventure obstacle race is being held at Covert Farms for the second year in a row on September 21. It features both 5 and 12 km courses, with 23 grueling and muddy obstacles designed in consultation with Brent Hayter of Crossfit South Okanagan.
Though it might sound like an activity only a serious athlete would enjoy, organizer Lyndie Hill of Hoodoo Adventure Company said it was created with competitive and recreational participants in mind.
“The team element of this style of race ensures that reaching the finish line is achievable for everyone.”
New additions to the event include the Freak’n Little Farmer, the 5k Half Plowed Farmer, camping on the farm, a pancake breakfast before the event at the farm’s market, and a pre-race dinner at the Watermark Beach Resort in Osoyoos on September 20.
The Freak’n Farmer is a partnership among Covert Farms, Hoodoo Adventure Company and the Oliver Osoyoos Winery Association.
A $2 minimum donation is requested as an admission fee. Proceeds go towards the South Okanagan Children’s Charity.
