FortisBC responds to letter

In response to a recent letter (FortisBC wants another rate increase, July 19), FortisBC would like to ensure participants have the information they need about the rate design process.  Our rate design application is scheduled to be submitted to the British Columbia Utilities Commission this fall. It is very important to us to engage and listen to our customers to gain feedback regarding how our electricity rates should collect revenues to cover our costs as a business.  It’s also important to remember that the FortisBC rate design is a standalone process that does not seek approval for any rate increases.  In June, FortisBC held an information session in Osoyoos to gather feedback on our rate design, we then followed up the following month, on July 26, to share that feedback.  Customers who couldn’t make a session or who want to provide further input can review the presentations and provide feedback by visiting
