Firefighters had a hard time accessing a vehicle abandoned in a remote location along the Okanagan River that caught fire early Wednesday morning.

Around 7:25 a.m. crews responded with two pumper trucks to Deer Park Estates north of Oliver and were able to reach the vehicle by crossing a gated water pipe bridge, said Oliver Fire Department spokesman Rob Graham.

It is unclear how the vehicle got to the location.

The fire is being treated as suspicious and RCMP are currently investigating the cause.
